  • Merix lends across most provinces in Canada, focusing on prime and near-prime residential mortgages. Lending criteria may vary slightly by province.

  • Oui. Yes. Both.
    Merix offers full bilingual servicing across Canada in English and French - making life easier for borrowers and brokers alike.

  • Merix offers:

    • Insured and insurable purchase and refinance

    • Business-for-self (BFS) lending

    • New to Canada programs

    • Spousal buyouts

    • Rental property financing

    • Early switch programs with reduced docs

    • HELOCs (select cases)

    They also offer prepayment options and transparent penalties—unlike the Big 5, and similar to their peers in the Monoline space

  • Merix is owned by MCAP, and that’s a good thing. You get the same strong funding sources, infrastructure, and servicing quality.
    That said, some older Merix mortgages may be serviced separately (you’ll see different phone numbers or emails).
    It’s not broken, it’s just mid-acquisition transition. We’ll help you sort out who to call.

    Because MCAP sets the pricing, Merix’s rates tend to follow MCAP’s retail channels. That means they’re likely about on par with MCAP, however may not have all the product offerings MCAP may have.
